This blog is the result of many years of living in Corfu. When we started thinking about making a blog we pondered on titles – ‘real life in Corfu’ was a possibility until someone said they couldn’t think of anywhere further away from real life than Corfu and maybe it should be called Fantasy Island. This then led on to a reminiscence of a quote from the past that Corfu seems to have its own set of rules for life, and none of them bear any resemblance to the rest of the world! So here it is The Corfu Blog - a hotchpotch of thoughts, articles, business, opinions and photos, for those who are interested in life in Corfu.
Diana came to work for a well-known villa company, stayed, and has been involved in almost every aspect of tourism and property that Corfu has to offer (apart from opening English Imports with Susan nearly 14 years ago).
Sarah came on holiday in the eighties, and despite having a variety of jobs, she never found her "niche" until Corfuhomefinders came along. Living here for twenty three years, with two grown up children, she is settled and content with island life, feeling more at home here than in the depths of Wiltshire.
Susan came to Corfu with a ready-made Greek family (husband, two children and one on the way) and now, 30 years later, lives in an olive grove high on a hillside in the north of the island. She spent a number of years "at home" raising four children and a variety of dogs, cats, donkeys and other animals. Tourism then beckoned, and a job with a villa company visiting some of the most beautiful properties on Corfu, and the gradual realization that estate agency was the ideal occupation for someone so interested in houses and villas.
Helga came from Holland, got involved in tourism, opened her own office, expanded into property, opened Corfuhomefinders Dassia office and, according to her, forgot to leave!
